Chris earned a Bachelor of Science degree in Accounting and a Masters in Business Administration from Barry University in Miami Shores, Florida. Chris is a Certified Public Accountant (CPA) licensed in over ten states and a Certified Internal Controls Auditor (CICA). He is a member of the American Institute of Certified Public Accountants (AICPA) and the Florida Institute of Certified Public Accountants. Chris has been associated with Nearman, Maynard, Vallez, CPAs & Consultants since 1991, during which time he has advanced to the position of Partner. As a Partner, he is responsible for all aspects of certified audit and agreed upon procedure engagements. Chris has performed numerous audits of both federal and state chartered credit unions. In addition to being a Partner of the firm, Chris is Chairman of the firm's Accounting and Auditing Standards Committee. The primary objective of this committee is to increase the production capability, efficiency, and quality of service offered by the firm by improving the technical and communication skills of our Associates. Chris’s has volunteered on the AICPA’s Depository Institutions Expert Panel (2004 – 2007). The DIEP is a volunteer group comprised of individuals having dedicated their careers to depository institutions. This panel meets with regulators allowing for a flow of ideas between regulators and those in the depository industry to work towards improved regulations and accounting issues. Additionally, in 2005, Chris was asked to serve on the Steering Committee for the AICPA National Conference on Credit Unions and in 2007, was appointed the committee Chairman.
